Shock results were in short supply as the leaders enjoyed a comfortable passage into 2016 in the evening leagues at West Lindsey Indoor Bowls Club.

The strength of the formbook was underlined in the Monday Pairs League, where the runaway unbeaten top dogs, Ray Robinson and Tom Whiteley, easily disposed of John Alsop’s team 28-14 and look in a strong position to retain their title as they sit three points ahead of Keith Woffinden’s team with a game in hand. Climbing into third place were Eric Dobbie and Dave Childs, who were far too good for John Grooby’s team finishing 25-5 winners.

In the Tuesday Australian Pairs League, Phillip Pearson’s side continued to set the pace after a cosy 23-6 victory over Bill Turner’s team, while close rivals, Ian Hatton’s team, beat struggling duo Michael Proudley and Merv Johnson 23-12. Proudley and Johnson remain next to bottom, ahead only of John Musgrave and Peter Freeman, who suffered two defeats -- 24-12 to Keith Woffinden and Gordon Tucker and 24-9 to Geoff Gray’s team, who also beat Roy Enever and Tim Kempton 24-12.

The Thursday Outdoor team League continues to be a close-run affair, although Roses remain favourites, even though they didn’t play. Scotter had a chance to make life difficult for Roses, only to be held to a 4-4 draw by and Marshalls.

Meanwhile the top two won in the Friday Evening Triples League. Ray Robinson’s team dropped a six on the first end against Gerald West’s bottom team, but still cruised home 30-6, while Eric Dobbie’s team shaded Gordon Tucker’s team 12-7.
